infertility and pregnancy loss

a little preview of the project

This project has been swimming around in my head for over 2 years now.

The inspiration for this project came from my own experience, which I'll share in more detail later. When I was struggling with infertility and pregnancy loss, every month seemed monumental. Every twinge of nausea sent hope running down my spine. With every negative pregnancy test I felt more isolated and depressed.

As I opened up about my situation I learned that, sadly, I was not alone. There are women and couples struggling with infertility all around. When I was brave enough to discuss my situation, I suddenly felt like I was part of this silent group, these silent sufferers.

This project is going to document women and couples who are struggling (or who have struggled) with infertility or have suffered pregnancy loss (at any stage). It will be an ongoing project, hopefully improving with time. I hope it will be meaningful to someone, somewhere.

If you are struggling with infertility or pregnancy loss, know that you are not alone.

I'm excited to see what will follow. Way to go on taking your loss and using that experience to reach out and support other people. It's the worst feeling to feel alone through infertility and pregnancy loss when so many people are dealing with the same thing.

This is wonderful! I found the link to your blog on Facebook featuring the story of Chante (my SIL's best friend). Beautiful!

This is important work. Infertility and pregnancy loss seem to be so taboo. I don't know why. I think it's so important that we as women share our experiences so other women don't feel so incredibly alone. I have always been open about our situation.

My husband was on fertility treatments for a few years until we finally conceived our son! He was a miracle! Then the real struggle for baby number 2 started. It has been our biggest struggle of our lives. Spending money on treatments, now for the both of us, and having loss after loss. It has been rough. I am now pregnant for the 6th time and baby girl is PERFECT! She is to be born in May.

I always thought having a successful pregnancy would heal the wounds of the last two years, but that pain is still there, and that's OK. I think we who are blessed with this experience can empathize with women who are struggling in a way that can give hope. There is nothing like feeling understood in the midst of this heartache. That is why I think it is so important to be open about our struggles. I look forward to hearing more of your posts. Thank you!

I'm in love with this project! My husband and I have been struggling with infertility for three years with a pregnancy loss back in November. Every story I have read on here has brought tears to my eyes. I love what you are doing to help these couples document this chapter in their lives. If you are looking for more stories we live in Utah and would be willing to share.

I love this! Me and my husband are infertile and we have two angel nephews, both stillborn. Definitely following!
