watercolor

We picked up some watercolors at the store the other day to add to our ever-growing stash of things-we-can-do-to-fill-time. The first few times we used them it was great! He kept busy for over an hour... it was wonderful. Now, he still loves painting, but he burns through pictures so quickly! It's almost more work now than it's worth. Moms out there, tell me your creative ways to keep your kids busy and engaged? I'd love to know!

crissy field

Got some film back from a few months ago...

Back in August I just had to get out. Get out of the routine and be in a different scene. We headed up to the city and checked out Crissy Field. It was beautiful! I hadn't been that close to the bridge before, and can I just say, I love the Golden Gate? I think more than half my roll was just pictures of the bridge! It's beautiful. We stopped for lunch and then headed to the Exploratorium. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, Trevor or Spencer! For dinner we walked over to the Ferry Building and had clam chowder and grilled cheese at Hog Island Oyster Co. It was a gorgeous day and just what I needed.

Goodbye, summer

I'm actually more than ready to say goodbye to summer. We've crossed everything off our bucket-list: long afternoons at the pool, homemade ice cream, lots of picnics, road trips, grilling, etc. etc. We're ready for soups, leaves, boots, cardigans and lots of baking.

Bring it on, fall!

farewell, Matt

Back in June we went to Utah to say goodbye to my brother who is serving a mission for our church. It was a great day surrounded by family, friends and good food. I'm not going to lie, I cried a few times on the way home. I love my brother and I just couldn't believe I wouldn't be able to see him for two years. He's doing wonderfully, though... no surprise there! I'm glad we got to be there for him. Here's to hoping the next two years go by quickly!

the ocean

My soul is full of longing for the secrets of the sea, and the heart of the great ocean sends a thrilling pulse through me.

now you see it, now you don't.

I love to eat. These Eggs Benedict I snagged down in Monterey were delicious!

the happiest place on earth

Back in March we headed down to Newport Beach to spend a week with my family. We had so much fun! We checked out the Nixon Library, Sea World, Disneyland, California Adventure along with hanging out in our villa. It was great to spend the whole week away and celebrate our little guy's second birthday. Disneyland was so fun with kids. I kind of can't wait to do it again.
