salty chocolate chip cookies

I love salty.
 I love sweet.
 I especially love them together.

I've tried a lot of chocolate chip cookies in my day. So far these have been my favorite... pretty sure it's the sea salt that seals the deal.

Salty Chocolate Chip Cookies
makes about 4-5 dozen

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 t. vanilla
3 cups flour
1 1/2 t. baking soda
3/4 t. salt
1 lb. chocolate chips
coarse sea salt

Directions

Mix flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl, set aside. Cream the butter, sugar and brown sugar together until fluffy. Add each egg, one at a time. Add vanilla. While mixing, slowly add the flour mixture until just combined. Gently fold in chocolate chips. Spoon onto your cookie sheet, flattening the tops a little bit. Sprinkle sea salt on top of each cookie. Bake at 350 for 11-13 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Mmmm... my favorite!

I just tried this recipe out--it's FANTASTIC! I love chocolate with salt, which is the reason I went looking for the recipe, but the texture of the cookies is really great as well--I'm sure that at some point in the future I'll want a non-salty ccc recipe, and I bet this recipe will be great in that case too. :)
